Studying material science in Germany

Materials science studies what things are made of and how to make them stronger, lighter, cleaner or longer lasting. A Master's in this subject covers metals, plastics, clay and other hard materials, and new materials used for energy, health and electric devices.

It mixes three subjects: physics, chemistry and engineering. Students come from several kinds of first degree. Some programmes include lab work and a research project. Compare what each programme focuses on and read what you need to apply.
