About the programme
The Nanoscience Master's at the University of Kassel is for students who like to look at things closely. It develops an interdisciplinary approach across physics, chemistry and biology, with specialisation in applied areas such as nanoelectronics, supramolecular chemistry or molecular biology. You learn to plan lab work and run experiments independently and to present results in speech and writing, and many optional specialisation courses let you build your own profile, along with soft skills such as academic communication and time management. You finish with a thesis on a research question in nanoscience. The programme lasts four semesters, is taught mainly in English, and starts in summer or winter. Career fields range from research to materials development, ICT, coatings, cosmetics, pharmacy and biomedicine.
