About the programme
The MSc Quantum Engineering at Ulm University is a two-year programme taught in English and worth 120 ECTS, and it starts in the summer or winter semester. It is for students who want to research quantum technologies and build quantum devices for everyday applications and for Earth and space observation. The first year is lecture-based: depending on whether your Bachelor's is in physics or engineering, you first take bridging courses, then interdisciplinary core lectures in quantum engineering and specialisation courses from the university's quantum physics and quantum engineering modules. The second year is research-based: you carry out an independent research project or an internship at an external institute or in industry, or you can apply to spend the third semester at a partner university abroad. You finish with a six-month Master's thesis.
