About the programme

Sustainability Science: Resources, Materials and Chemistry (M.Sc.) at Leuphana University Lüneburg is a programme on sustainable chemistry. It lasts four semesters, carries 120 credits, is taught in English and starts on 1 October, with 25 study places. It responds to problems such as climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity loss and chemical waste, and to the traditional linear way resources are turned into chemicals. Using life cycle and systems thinking, you look at the role of resources, material flows and chemical products in industry and society, and learn to understand the resources a product needs and possible alternatives, including alternative business models. Topics include digitalisation, planetary boundaries, renewable and finite resources and regenerative practices, applied to real-world problems in transdisciplinary projects. It is aimed at people with a focus on chemistry, resource and material sciences and sustainability.
