About the programme
Nanotechnology (Nanotechnologie) at West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau is a consecutive Master of Engineering taught in German, three semesters (90 ECTS) full time or six part time, with starts in the winter or the summer semester. At the scale of single atoms, materials develop new properties, which opens uses in optical technologies, semiconductor technology, energy technology, and bio and environmental technology. The programme links physics, chemistry, materials engineering, electrical engineering and medicine, with a strong practical focus on current tasks in high-tech industry and research. Key topics include surface functionalisation, nanostructuring, miniaturisation strategies, and the use of very small systems from microelectronics, microsystems, nano and surface technology. It suits engineering and science graduates aiming for research and development in high-tech companies or research institutes.
