About the programme
Lightweight and Material Technologies is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 4 semesters full-time (a dual work-study variant is also offered), you can start in winter or summer, and admission is not limited. Note that the page currently says enrolment in this programme is not possible. This programme brings together materials, manufacturing processes, lightweight design and how they interact. You build competences along the technology chain for turning metals and plastics into finished products, with in-depth skills in materials, manufacturing, simulation and design, including the design of lightweight structures. Double degrees with partners in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and a dual route with industry are options. Graduates work as research and development engineers or project managers in metal and plastics processing, vehicle and rail, aerospace and engineering services, or go on to doctoral research.
