Yes. The uni-assist review can take several weeks, so JLU recommends applying right at the start of the application period. All applications received by uni-assist in due form within the deadline are considered.

No study fees as such, but you pay administrative fees each semester. They cover the semester ticket for local public transport, the student services and students' association fees, administrative fees, and a theatre and public pool flat rate, plus a one-time bond for the chip-card ID at first enrolment. The fully digital Sustainable Transition programme instead charges a semester contribution of about 100 euros, without these local discounts. You pay the fees before enrolling.

You apply online with the Studentenwerk, choosing Giessen and the room types you want; you do not need to be enrolled yet. The application is not binding. You get an email every 14 days asking if you are still interested, and if you do not confirm, your application is deactivated.
