About the programme
English Linguistics is a Master of Arts at the University of Tübingen that gives you a full understanding of current linguistics and training in empirical research methods. The programme combines empirical research with theoretical modelling. The focus is on describing and processing English, always enriched by comparison across languages and interdisciplinary approaches from experiments to literary studies, and you can combine courses with selected Master's courses from the other linguistics departments. Independent study plays a big role: from the start you are encouraged to design and carry out your own research projects. The programme lasts four semesters and can be started in winter or summer.

Successful candidates must have shown a clear focus on linguistics.
