About the programme
Applied Intercultural Linguistics (Anwendungsorientierte Interkulturelle Sprachwissenschaft) is a German-taught Master of Arts at the University of Augsburg over 4 semesters, with open admission and entry in winter or summer. It deepens theoretical and methodological knowledge to build transcultural competence, expands your skills in linguistic disciplines, and includes the academic study of two foreign languages at a very high level. The content spans descriptive linguistics, applied linguistics, foreign language didactics and ethnology. Graduates can work in university teaching, public relations, journalism and media, cultural management and foreign language teaching outside schools. You need German at C1, your two chosen languages at C1 or C2, another foreign language at A2, and an APS certificate if your degree is from India, China or Vietnam.
