About the programme

International Specialist Communication: Languages and Technology (Internationale Fachkommunikation - Sprachen und Technik) at the University of Hildesheim is a four-semester Master of Arts, full time or part time, starting in the summer or the winter semester. It centres on language and languages, specialist communication, technical writing, technical translation, text optimisation, layout, information structuring, accessibility and understandability, plus tools for translation, desktop publishing and content management. The programme trains text designers who plan, create and translate technical documents and media products. Practice modules cover English-German technical translation, technical writing and technical English, and technical modules cover automation, production and information technology. You choose two electives, for example language technology, energy technology and sustainability, French or Spanish as a second language, or accessible communication. An internship of more than eight weeks, a colloquium and a thesis complete it. It suits people as keen on languages as on technology.
