About the programme

The Master's in English Studies at TU Chemnitz is a research-oriented programme with a strong international outlook. It deepens your theoretical and practical skills and lets you set your own focus. You can flexibly combine specialisations in Digital English Linguistics, English Literatures with a focus on postcolonial cultural and literary representations and practices, and Anglophone Area Studies with a social science orientation. New students cannot start the TESOL specialisation from the winter semester 2026/27 onwards. A practice-oriented module gives the programme a strong professional orientation and prepares you for the national or international job market. Teaching ranges from lectures to intensive seminars and group projects, and you can get ERASMUS support for a semester or an internship abroad. If you want, you can take an orientation semester before you begin.
