About the programme
Linguistics is an English-taught Master of Arts at Leipzig University with a strong research focus. Over four semesters (120 credits) you choose nine of 13 modules: foundational modules cover the principles of linguistics, advanced modules take up key issues of current research, and specialised modules introduce you to independent linguistic research. The programme focuses on the central areas of grammatical theory, morphology, phonology and syntax, and offers a broad range of courses on language typology, computational linguistics and semantics, with close links to current research projects and the chance of research internships. You can start in the winter or summer semester. It prepares you especially for doctoral studies, and also for work in computer-based language processing or language-focused roles in business. It suits graduates in linguistics.
