About the programme
The Master's in Romance Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen runs for 4 semesters with 120 credit points and starts only in the winter semester. It deepens the skills of a B.A. in Romance Studies and combines a Romance studies major with a minor subject. In the major you work on literary and cultural studies and linguistics, choosing Hispanic studies, French studies or Portuguese studies as your main subject, and your language of concentration gives you deeper insight into the language, its cultural area and its literature. Besides project-based seminars, a practical module is built into the curriculum and can be done in Germany or abroad. The programme prepares you for professional fields such as publishing, the diplomatic service, advertising, media, film, business and the public sector.

Your school-leaving certificate (this may in certain cases take the form of a listing of the subject grades achieved in your last year of school; if applicable, also an academic transcript and/or diploma from a university already attended) and a translation of these documents (into English or German). Translations are only accepted from accredited translators who are authorized to issue official translations in their respective home country. We accept documents in German and English.

If you do not yet have sufficient German language skills to apply, please apply for the "Deutschkurs/German language course" to take part in an intensive German language course to prepare you for your studies at JLU.
