About the programme

The Master of Arts in Philosophy at Justus Liebig University Giessen runs for 4 semesters with 120 credit points. It studies philosophy's core concern, shaping and deepening our understanding of ourselves as human beings, through the lens of a new anthropology that integrates many questions rather than standing as one special discipline. Its guiding question is what shapes human forms of life at the interface of culture and nature, so you can combine focus areas from practical and theoretical philosophy and work where cultural studies meet the life sciences. Modules cover theoretical and practical philosophy and the philosophy of the life sciences, and you choose three project modules. Students are expected to take a high degree of responsibility for the content of their studies. Requirements include a Bachelor's with at least 60 credit points in philosophy.
