About the programme
Anglophone Literatures, Cultures and Media is a Master of Arts at Goethe University Frankfurt taught entirely in English. It covers three main areas: Literature and Media Culture, Literature and Cultural History, and Transcultural Anglophone Studies. You look at the media side of literature, how English-language literature interacts with other cultural media, and how texts relate to historical, political, philosophical and artistic developments in the English-speaking world, past and present. In the Frankfurt tradition there is particular weight on literature in historical context, cultural memory, intermediality and key ideas of media studies. The programme is built on learning through research, so you can join research projects and develop your own work. It lasts four semesters and starts in winter. It prepares you for a doctorate and for roles in publishing, media and public relations.
