About the programme
Public Planning and Participation at the University of Stuttgart is a very practice-oriented, four-semester Master's that teaches concepts and methods for properly involving the public in planning and decision-making. Teaching is in German. The page describes it as the first programme in Germany to prepare students for these roles in municipal administration, business, science and politics. From the start, theory is linked to practice through independent planning projects and training in the basics of mediation and facilitation. You also gain insight into the current legal situation, planning processes and legally permitted forms of advocacy. It suits you if you want to combine knowledge from planning, the social, natural and engineering sciences and law, so that you can mediate between actors from different fields.
