About the programme
The LL.M. German Law for foreign graduates is a German-taught, research-oriented Master of Laws at the University of Passau. Building on a law degree earned abroad, it gives you essential skills and specific expertise in the German legal system. The programme lasts 2 semesters with 60 credits and starts in October. You take a two-semester foundation course in Civil Law or Constitutional Law, a Scientific Methods module with a master's seminar paper and presentation that prepares you for the thesis, and three of five electives, such as Criminal Law or International Aspects of German Law, attending classes together with German law students. It suits law graduates from outside Germany who speak German well; special German courses for law students are available.
