About the programme
The MSc Biotechnology at the University of Münster is research-oriented, with a wide range of specialisations across modern biotechnology, embedded in the faculty's research on organisms. You prepare to work independently on research projects and join ongoing ones, with a focus on lab experience, small groups of at most 12 in practicals, and mentoring. Most modules are your free choice: four four-week advanced modules and two eight-week research modules, plus required modules in general biotechnology and in patent law and innovation management, and a project management module. The Master's thesis takes about ten months. Study abroad is supported, with up to 15 credits recognised. The programme is accredited by ASIIN, taught in German, lasts four semesters, and starts in winter or summer. It prepares you for a doctorate or for scientific work in industry, universities and research institutions.
