About the programme
Applied Health Informatics & Digital Medicine is a part-time, continuing-education M.Sc. at RWTH Aachen University, taught in English over 4 semesters with 90 credits and starting in the winter semester. It is designed to be studied alongside work and covers how medical data is collected, analysed and used in healthcare, linking care and research and making digital processes in healthcare efficient. Depending on your background you start in a medicine or a programming fundamentals track. Teaching follows a blended model with online seminars and regular on-campus blocks in Aachen, in small interdisciplinary groups at the interface of medicine and computer science. The second semester includes an internship or project, the third offers four electives, and the fourth is the Master's thesis. You need relevant work experience and English at B2.
Specialization
Based on the respective prior knowledge of the participants, they will join one of the two starting tracks "Fundamentals of Medicine" or "Fundamentals of Algorithms, Data Structures and Programming". This ensures that all applicants have a basic knowledge of medicine and computer science and that a common framework of understanding has been established.
