About the programme
Economics (Master Volkswirtschaftslehre) is an English-taught Master of Science at the University of Mannheim. It lasts four semesters with 120 to 126 credits and starts in September; there is no spring intake. A 30-credit core gives advanced knowledge of macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics, and the rest depends on your track: the Economic Track lets you set your own focus and take modules from related programmes, the Competition and Regulation Economics (CaRE) track adds courses at the interface with law, and the Research Track builds your profile through PhD-level courses. You finish with a supervised master's thesis. A double degree is possible through the ENTER Research Masters. It suits graduates in economics or an equivalent degree with solid maths, econometrics and statistics.
