About the programme
German Law (Deutsches Recht) is a Master of Laws at Universität Hamburg for law graduates who studied abroad and want to learn German law, in German. It lasts two semesters, starting with lectures in October and ending the following September. You study German law and its methods with your own focus and some comparative elements: first required introductory modules (10 credit points), then one of five specialisations (35 credit points), then your Master's thesis (15 credit points). Keep in mind that the degree does not qualify you for Germany's state-regulated legal professions. Possible careers include legal and HR departments of companies, banks and insurers.
