About the programme

The Master of Laws (LL.M.) in German Law at the University of Freiburg is a German-taught, full-time programme for lawyers who graduated abroad, starting in the winter semester. You can choose a one-year version (60 credits) or a two-year version (120 credits), the latter aimed especially at students who plan a doctorate afterwards. You gain insight into German law with its European and international links, specialise in your area of interest from a wide range of courses, take exams during the lectures and finish with a Master's thesis. The one-year course needs a foreign law degree of at least 240 credits and the two-year course at least 180, both with a final grade of 2.5 or better and German at C1, for example DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
