About the programme
Caritaswissenschaft und Ethik (Catholic Welfare Studies and Ethics) is a German-taught Master of Arts at the University of Freiburg over 4 semesters with 120 credits, starting in the winter semester. Caritas science is an interdisciplinary theological discipline that brings students and teachers from many fields into dialogue in teaching and research. Under the heading of ethics, you discuss how to balance what is technically feasible with what is humanly meaningful, engaging with fundamental questions about values, norms and morals. The programme suits people who like to question the facts and conflicts of the modern world and enjoy argument and interdisciplinary exchange. You need a Bachelor's in theology, religious studies, social sciences, humanities, law, economics or a comparable field, and German at B2.
