Prerequisites

You need a university degree in the humanities, social sciences or cultural studies. Examples are European ethnology, folklore, cultural anthropology, cultural history, museum studies, cultural management, popular cultures, or other social science, historical or language subjects. The degree must last at least six semesters (180 ECTS) and the final grade must be 2.5 or better on the German scale. You also need at least 10 ECTS in European Ethnology. If you do not have these 10 ECTS yet, you can make them up during the Master's; talk to the study adviser first. You may start before your degree certificate is ready if you hand it in by the end of the first semester. The programme is taught in German, so you need German at level B2. A motivation letter is welcome but not required.
