About the programme
History of the Arts and Cultural History (Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte) is a consecutive, interdisciplinary Master of Arts at the University of Augsburg, taught in German over 4 semesters, with open admission and entry in winter or summer. It brings together classical archaeology, art history, European ethnology, digital imaging in the humanities, musicology, and European, Bavarian and Swabian regional history to examine the visual, acoustic and social sides of cultural history, past and present. Alongside interdisciplinary perspectives, it gives specialised qualifications in individual disciplines. Graduates work in museums, archives, monument preservation, the art trade, cultural management, publishing, education and research. You need German at C1 and two modern foreign languages at B1, one of which can be replaced by basic Latin.
