About the programme
Biotechnology / Biopharmaceutical Technology is a Master of Science at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) for graduates in biotechnology, biopharmaceutical technology or a related science or engineering field. It sits at the meeting point of natural sciences, engineering and pharmacy, and teaches you not just to understand biotechnological processes but to analyse, optimise and develop them. Topics include bioprocess and plant design, cell culture technology, upstream and downstream bioprocessing, bio-data analysis, pharmaceutical technology, clinical study design and drug regulation, with electives to shape your own focus. You learn to plan experiments, use modern methods, evaluate data and judge results critically, and you complete an R&D project before your thesis. The programme lasts four semesters and starts in summer or winter. It prepares you for demanding work in research, development and industry.
