About the programme
Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics at TUM in Garching is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS, with a start in the winter or the summer semester. English is the required language for admission. This interdisciplinary programme applies new research findings from the natural and engineering sciences to medicine and the life sciences, to develop new methods for prevention, diagnosis and therapy. Focus areas include novel imaging for microscopy and biomedical imaging, biosensors for lab-on-chip technology, artificial intelligence for medical data analysis, better therapeutic methods, tracers and methods that support radiotherapy, and biomedical uses of biomechanics and biophysics. The first two semesters are a course phase and the second year is a research phase that puts you in direct contact with current research topics. You build the skills to run research or industry projects across the boundaries of science, engineering and medicine. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
