About the programme
Advanced Nursing Practice is a German-taught, part-time Master of Science at the University of Oldenburg, offered since Winter 2024/25. It takes 5 semesters (120 ECTS) and admission is free. The programme trains nurses as advanced practice nurses for a clinical role, with science-based decisions in direct patient care. You learn to analyse complex problems, develop evidence-based nursing concepts, work on research questions across disciplines, and support digitalisation in healthcare. Compulsory modules cover clinical action, clinical knowledge and nursing science, and electives cover professional development, nursing and digitalisation, and scientific project work. The Master's thesis and colloquium are worth 30 credits. In semesters 1 to 3 you attend campus on two fixed days a week, with some seminars online. Requirements include a Bachelor's of at least 180 credits in nursing, nursing or health sciences, or a suitable field.
