About the programme
European and International Energy Law is an English-taught Master of Business Law (MBL) at TU Berlin, run as a continuing education programme. It lasts two semesters with 60 credits and starts in the winter semester. You complete six modules, usually taught in blocks: the legal framework of energy markets, the economic foundations of regulatory law, an introduction to regulatory law, the technical basics and law of electricity generation, the legal framework for grid operation (TSO and DSO), and the law of energy trade and supply, followed by an 18-credit master's thesis. An internship is not required, but excursions to energy institutions and businesses and your lecturers' networks help you find one, ideally between semesters. It is a continuing education programme for graduates, and places are limited to 30 a year.
