About the programme

Research and Social Work is a German-taught Master of Arts (M.A.) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. It takes 4 full-time semesters (120 ECTS across 12 modules), and starts in the winter semester only. The programme gives you solid knowledge of empirical social research methods and strategies so you can run research, development and evaluation projects on your own. Because it is linked to the faculty's research institutes, you take part in ongoing research projects, and you also learn project planning and management. Teaching mixes lectures, presentations, seminars, projects and group work. Graduates analyse and evaluate social policy and organisational change in social work, and there is strong demand in social reporting and evaluation. You can also go on to doctoral study.
