About the programme

Healthcare Management is a German-taught Master of Arts (M.A.) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Note that the page currently says it is not accepting applications. It takes 4 full-time semesters (120 ECTS) and starts in the winter semester, with lectures on fixed weekdays so it can fit around a job. The programme prepares you for higher management roles in nursing care and healthcare organisations, or to run your own healthcare business. Its 14 modules cover leadership and controlling, contract and remuneration policy and care concepts, and internationalisation, with topics such as change management, quality management, marketing, project management, public health policy and international healthcare systems, plus a Master's thesis worth 25 credits. Requirements include a relevant degree of at least six semesters or 180 credits, for example in nursing, care management or nursing education, plus completed vocational training in a care or patient-facing health profession.

Prerequisites

a completed degree at an institution of higher education with at least six semesters or at least 180 ECTS credits in a relevant degree course. The degree must be achieved at a state-recognized institution of higher education. The following degree courses are considered relevant among others: care, care management or nursing education

b) and the proof of completed vocational training in a care profession or in a health profession with close contact to patients. Care professions are for instance: nursing care, pediatric nursing care, geriatric care, midwifery and delivery care, special needs care. Health professions with close contact to patients are for instance: occupational therapy, physiotherapy, surgical technical assistant, anesthesiologist assistant, medical-technical assistant, medical-technical radiology assistant.
