M.A. Educational Science

Educational Science at Bielefeld University is a four-semester Master of Arts worth 120 credit points, and you can start in the winter or the summer semester. It offers an academically grounded and practical deepening of questions in education, with a focus on analysing and reflecting on educational processes in the context of social differences and crises. You shape your own profile by combining two focus areas from counselling, adult and continuing education, inclusive education, childhood and youth research, social pedagogy and media education. A large professionalisation project gives room for your own research or practice-based work. The programme strengthens theoretical reflection, research methods and professional practice, and you can gain international experience through exchange programmes and cooperation with universities abroad. It suits graduates who want to work in educational practice, for example in social institutions, or in social science research.
