About the programme

Medical and Health Technology (Medizin- und Gesundheitstechnologie) at West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau is a Master of Science taught in German, three semesters (90 ECTS) full time or six part time. It starts in the summer or the winter semester, or always in winter if a preparatory semester is needed. The programme sits between medicine and technology and trains you to think and work across disciplines and scientifically. You gain broad knowledge of medicine and society, rehabilitation and assistance systems for older people, navigation, robotics, sensors and actuators, and information management. Extensive practical project work builds communication and teamwork skills and teaches you to work in multidisciplinary groups. It suits Bachelor's graduates with technical, medical or economic backgrounds who are aiming for leadership roles in planning and running projects and integrating medical, medical technology and information systems, in healthcare, industry, research institutes or public authorities.

Prerequisites

  • A first professional university degree with at least 210 credit points (ECTS points), preferably in the fields of biomedical engineering / medical technology, medical informatics/health informatics, management for public institutions, health and nursing sciences or other relevant degree programs (applicants with 180 ECTS points will be offered a preparatory semester).
  • A high level of motivation for studying, which is outlined in a letter of motivation.
  • Language requirements for non-native speakers: German B2
