About the programme

Charity Studies and Values-based Management is a German-taught Master of Arts at the University of Passau for people who want to lead in the health and social services sector. It looks at management from the perspective of Christian-influenced theology and ethics, while staying open to all religions and world views. You learn how values-based leadership works in organisations and in human resources management. You first study the theoretical foundations of charity, then build practical skills that you apply in a compulsory internship, and you finish with a master's thesis on your own research questions. The programme lasts 4 semesters full time or 8 part time, starts in October, and can be combined with a job: classes usually run on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, with other courses online or hybrid. It suits university graduates who want management roles in the health and social services sector.
