Prerequisites

You need a university degree with a grade of 2.5 or better, or you belong to the best 50 percent of your graduating year, or you have an equivalent qualification. The degree should ideally be in art history, art studies or visual studies.

Bamberg is the only university in Germany where you can choose the master in Art History if you completed your bachelor's degree in another subject (non-consecutive master).

You also need these language skills:

  • Secure English, at least level B2
  • A second modern foreign language, at least level B1, or Latin

The examination board decides whether language skills you gained elsewhere count.
