About the programme

This is a continuing-education Master of Science programme. The Master of Science in International Health at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health focuses on poverty-related health problems in low and middle income countries. It is taught in English, starts in September 2027, and can be studied full-time in one year or part-time over up to five years, at Heidelberg University and tropEd partner institutions. The programme gives you a foundation in international public health principles and the skills to run and start sustainable programmes for disease control, health promotion and health services development. By the end you should be able to collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative health data, analyse the determinants of health in these countries from a cross-disciplinary view, plan sustainable improvements to health systems, and work in multi-disciplinary teams.
