About the programme
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (formerly the MSc Meteorology) is a Master of Science at Goethe University Frankfurt that you can shape around your strengths. You take two core lectures and several smaller electives, gaining depth in at least two research areas: experimental atmospheric research, theoretical atmospheric dynamics, mesoscale meteorology and climate, boundary layer meteorology, and cloud physics and climate. Up to two minor subjects, excursions, an internship and cooperation with other universities are possible. You then have a full year for your specialisation, project and thesis, with access to the institute's mountain observatory, research balloons, the HALO research aircraft, the CLOUD experiment at CERN, cooperation with the German Weather Service and computing clusters. There is a student mentoring programme. The programme is taught in English, lasts four semesters and starts in winter.
