About the programme
Social Work: Critically Reflective and Research-Based Approaches is a German-taught, four-semester Master of Arts at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) for graduates in social work or a related subject. It deepens your knowledge and skills, places them in theory and develops them further through research. The focus is a critical, academically grounded look at social work within today's social conditions and changes. The programme combines theory and reflection, social research methods such as surveys and evaluation, and supervised teaching research projects over several semesters, ending with a master's thesis and seminar. It starts in the winter semester. Graduates move into management, coordination and strategic roles, research or a PhD.
