About the programme
Social Work is a German-taught, applied Master of Arts at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the Cottbus-Sachsendorf campus. It takes 4 semesters full-time and in person, 120 ECTS, starts in the winter semester, and admission is not limited. Note that the page currently says enrolment in this programme is not possible. The programme focuses on the challenges of social change and social sustainability. In the second semester you choose to deepen either management or transformation processes. You gain specialised knowledge of social work in times of social change, the basics of managing social work organisations, and applied research skills. Graduates take on leadership, conceptual and research roles with social service providers, social administration, associations and research institutes. Note that this Master's alone does not give state recognition as a social worker in Brandenburg; that requires the B.A. in Social Work.
Specialization
As focal points, students in the 2nd Master semester can freely choose whether to deepen their knowledge in the field of "Management" or in the field of "Transformation Processes".
