About the programme
Food Quality is a German-taught Master of Engineering at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) that prepares you to ensure product safety and quality in the food sector. It is practice-oriented and offers two fields of study: product development, where you develop new foods and put them into production, and applied process safety, where you assess and improve manufacturing processes and finished food for risks. In product development you also create a concrete product in supervised group work, from finding ideas to preparing the market launch. The programme lasts three semesters and runs across the Weihenstephan and Triesdorf campuses. You can write your thesis at either campus or at a company or research institute in Germany or abroad. It starts in the summer or winter semester.

Prerequisites
In the field of applied process safety, admission is only possible for the winter semester. There are 25 places available.
The Product Development programme can be started in either the summer or winter semester. Here, too, 25 places are offered in both semesters. MOI German only-few modules in English
Prior technical knowledge: Bachelor's degree or other qualification
Proof of German language skills- B2
Graduates of undergraduate courses in Brewing and Beverage Technology, Nutrition and Supply Management, Food Management, Food Technology or equivalent courses, who are looking for a self-reliant and highly qualified occupation in the food industry and in the upstream and downstream industries as well as trade and service companies. The goal is also the acquisition of competencies to plan, conduct and assess research projects
