About the programme
The M.Sc. Animal Biology and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) is a four-semester master's for graduates of biology, biochemistry and related fields. It is international in nature, so most lectures are held in English. The programme is built around three main subject areas: evolution, biodiversity and behaviour; cell biology, developmental biology and neurobiology; and infection biology. Together they form an interface between biology and biomedical science, and many TiHo institutes are involved, linking biological and veterinary research. Teaching is based on the lecturers' own current research, so you meet current research from the start and can carry out independent research in TiHo laboratories early on. In the first semester all students take a course on animal protection and planning animal experiments. The programme suits those aiming for a career in bioscientific or biomedical research or a doctorate.
