About the programme

Microbiology and Infection Biology is a Master's at the University of Tübingen run by the Interfaculty Institute of Microbiology and Infection Medicine (IMIT). It gives you fundamental knowledge of microbiology and infection biology, research in the institute's labs and many hands-on courses. Research areas are microbial physiology, microbial compounds and infection biology: the molecular basis of bacterial processes and adaptation, natural product biosynthesis and how these compounds stop bacterial pathogens, staphylococci and gut pathogens, and the microbiome's role in preventing infection and in drug metabolism. The programme is linked with the Cellular and Immunological Biosciences Master's. It lasts four semesters, is taught in English, and starts every winter.
