About the programme
Digital Humanities at the University of Stuttgart is a four-semester M.A. where the humanities and computer science meet. Teaching is in German. The field covers many areas and methods, such as the quantitative indexing of texts to make statistical statements, for example about a genre, and the creation of digital editions. The programme lets Bachelor of Arts graduates specialise in a humanities subject while combining a basic technical education with intensive training in the humanities. It suits you if you enjoy trying out new computer applications right away, can handle stress and the occasional error while working things out by trial and error, are comfortable in a young field still taking shape, and are open to other subjects and their disciplinary cultures.
