About the programme

Animation and Game is an English-taught Master of Arts at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da), on the Dieburg campus, that prepares you for leadership roles in the international media industry. In a research and development oriented setting, you build in-depth skills in conceiving and producing digital games and animations. You choose one of two specialisations: Creative Direction, covering narrative design, game experience design, mise-en-scène and creative leadership and entrepreneurship, or Technical Direction, covering advanced programming, game development, algorithm design and virtual reality. The programme is project-based from the start: after deepening scientific and conceptual design methods, you lead your own directing and producing projects with teams from concept to release. It takes two to four semesters depending on your previous degree, starting in winter or summer. Graduates work as animation directors, lead game designers or technical directors.
