About the programme

Sustainable Maritime Engineering is an international, English-taught M.Sc. at the University of Rostock, full-time over 4 semesters with 120 credits. It prepares you to shape the future of marine sustainability, from the ocean's surface to its deepest depths, through hands-on projects and close collaboration with industry. You choose one of three specialisation pathways: Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or Underwater Technologies. You can start in winter or summer, but the programme strongly recommends a winter start, because a summer start means extra work or longer studies. English at B2 level is required and German is not needed. Graduates can go on to maritime companies, research centres, government agencies or their own start-up. It suits engineers who want to build a career in the global maritime sector.
