About the programme
Chemical and Energy Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is a two-year Master of Science offered by the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering and taught entirely in English. All of the faculty's professors teach in the programme. You start with fundamental lectures with advanced content in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, chemistry, and mechanical, thermal and chemical process engineering, which helps students from different countries and Bachelor's degrees reach the same level. You then move on to applied chemical engineering and build your own modules from the lectures and tutorials on offer, according to your interests. The fourth semester is for your Master's thesis. The faculty has modern measuring equipment, such as lasers, infrared and high-speed cameras, and computers with commercial computational fluid dynamics software. The first and third semesters run in the summer semester and the second and fourth in the winter.
