About the programme
Landscape Ecology is a Master of Science at the University of Oldenburg, taught in German and English. It takes 4 semesters (120 ECTS) and admission is limited. The research-oriented programme has strong applied elements: you learn to recognise and analyse complex ecological interactions and can specialise in functional ecology, restoration ecology, animal and plant ecology, soil ecology, ecohydrology, environmental planning and nature conservation. Early courses in data modelling, ecology, geoecological processes, environmental planning and GIS build a shared base, and at least 60 credits come from electives. You can import up to 30 credits from related Master's programmes. Graduates work in ecological research, nature and environmental protection, landscape planning, soil and water protection, and climate adaptation. Requirements include a degree in environmental science or a closely related field. Applicants from outside Germany also need German at DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
