About the programme

The Master of Science in Molecular Life Science at the University of Lübeck lasts four semesters and can start in the winter or summer semester. It deepens the natural science foundations of the bachelor's programme, introduces further fields of medical research, and lets you specialise in cell biology, structural biology, neuroscience or clinical immunology. The programme is interdisciplinary, since biomolecules have physical structures, interact through chemical reactions and generate large amounts of data that need bioinformatics and mathematical methods. Lübeck is one of the smallest state universities in Germany, with small study groups, a central campus and intensive support. Laboratories include facilities for molecular medical research, high-security labs for handling dangerous pathogens, and high-performance computing clusters for bioinformatics and systems biology. For your master's thesis you join current research projects. Graduates work in basic or applied medical research, biotechnology, or research, development and quality management in industry.
