About the programme
Higher Education is a Master of Arts run by Universität Hamburg's centre for university teaching and learning (HUL). It is mainly for people who already teach at universities and want to qualify further in university didactics, and for those who plan, develop, evaluate or reform university teaching. A third of the curriculum covers teaching and learning research, science studies, higher education research and media education research; another third is a project in which you study a practical problem of your own choice; it starts with a didactics module and ends with the thesis. The programme has 60 credit points and is designed to be studied alongside work over four semesters, about two days a week, with all classes online. Teaching is in German.
