About the programme
The Psychology Master of Science at Universität Hamburg is a research-oriented programme of four semesters and 120 credit points, taught in German and English. Required modules cover advanced research methods and statistics and psychological assessment. It has two linked focuses: cognitive neuroscience, including a cognitive neuroscience module; and social and emotional processes, through applied electives in organisational and educational psychology. You learn extensive methods and statistics, including lab experiments with modern measurement, field data collection and the analysis of large data sets. An internship is planned for the third semester, and it can be done abroad. The programme is aimed mainly at psychology students heading for a research career or research-based work with data. Its career fields exclude clinical psychology. It starts in winter only.
